01. Traction Lift

Traction Lift is the most common form of lift that we see in Singapore. It usually involves a traction motor in between Lift car and counterweights. 

Traction Lift requires more space, more headroom and sufficient pit compared to other lifts.

Known for quiet operation high speed and reliability, Traction lifts are available as both machine room and machine room less type.

02. Hydraulic Lift

Hydraulic Lifts are used as an alternative where traction lifts cannot be used. More common in Europe and North America as home lifts. Hydraulic mainly serves low rise buildings due to travel limit.

Hydraulic lifts are often chosen because they require less space, less headroom and pit compared to traction.

Hydraulic lifts require machine room but often considered home friendly due to ease of rescue and absence of hung Loads

03. Home Lift

Home Lift in Singapore code is a traction or hydraulic lift used primarily in private residence, e.g. Bungalow, Villa. Lift is meant for private use.

Home Lift should not have public access and only meant to be used by home owner or under his supervision.

Statutory regulation in Singapore requires atleast one maintenance service every quarter and 4 services a year.

04.Platform Lift

Platform Lift are basic accessibility lift, meant for basic mobility, Platform Lifts can be Traction, Hydraulic or Screw and Nut Driven but they must comply with European Standard EN-81-41.

 

Typically Platform lifts do not have cabin and employ hold to run function. However Platform lifts with complete cabin and Automatic Doors are also feasible subjected to approval from Authority. 

Platform lift require less pit and headroom and operate at low speed.

05.Passenger Lift

Passenger Lifts are lifts accessible to Public, Passenger Lifts in Singapore are mainly traction type with a very small number of Hydraulic lifts used as passenger Lifts.

Passenger lifts are designed to handle high traffic and therefore traction lifts are considered most appropriate in this regard.

Maintenance of  passenger lift is critical and a reliable and maintainable system is required  to achieve maximum uptime. A passenger lift must be serviced at least once a month as per local regulation.

06. Goods Lift

Also known as Freight Elevators or Cargo Lifts a goods Lift is strictly meant for mobility of goods and not passenger. Goods Lift come with a chequered steel plate flooring and option of Powder coated and stainless steel finishes.

Goods lifts are available both as machine room and machine room less variant of elevators, capacity of goods lift vary from 1000 kg to 10 ton.

 

Goods lift with lower load capacity are available at nominal speed of 1.0 mps while higher capacity lifts are available as 0.5 mps.

07. Stair Lift

Stair Lifts are  meant to remove the mobility constraints for elderly and patients in house, these lifts can be installed on one side of staircase and chair travels along the staircase. The chairs and designs come in variety of color and shapes. 

Platform stairlift employs a platform instead of chair, the platform is capable of transporting a wheel chair along the staircase. Available in different sizes and finishes.
